Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has said he has no grudge or is feeling sorry for Dan Ashworth, who was sacked as sporting director last week, because the former boss was more in favour of Gareth Southgate’s appointment at Old Trafford than he was.
Ashworth was brought in from Newcastle and only work at the Red Devils for five months before being sack by CEO Omar Berrada after a series of conflicting directions.
The breaking point was when Erik ten Hag was sack as manager. Berrada wanted Amorim from Sporting Lisbon, but Ashworth supported Southgate, the former England manager.

“I can feel Dan’s support too, but this is football and sometimes these things can happen to players, to coaches.”
“I know it’s not the best situation, but the important thing is to continue with our plan. The path is clear to everyone – if someone goes out, it doesn’t make that much of an impact. But of course, it’s a difficult situation.”
“In terms of humanity, professionalism, that supports ทางเข้า ufabet us as a team. But most importantly, I think our vision is clear and it won’t change even if someone leaves.”
