Arsenal left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly is hoping to break into the first team in the second half of the 2024-25 season because with the senior players taking turns with injuries, it would be better to use the young, fresh players to gain experience and play continuously to benefit the team.
The 18-year-old defender started the Champions League 3-0 win over Monaco on Tuesday and is the youngest player to feature since Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in 2011.
And because the left-backs are always injury, with Riccardo Calafiori, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney all injured, Arteta may decide to let the product from London Colney take over as the main man, while others can come in and challenge.
“I’m really proud now. This guy is one of our young players,” he said on his official website.
“It’s just fun to watch him play, it’s a privilege for us to give someone a chance to start a career.”
“Myles has taken his chance and it’s great that we can trust them, to see that a kid from the hometown can play in this environment, at this high level. I’m delight with what he’s shown.”
“Today I have received the opportunity to be the starting left back. From now on, I will be an option that is consider.”
“The kid really open โปรโมชั่น ufabet our eyes to see that – I’m ready – just like Ethan Nwaneri show.”
The next league game is against Everton (Dec 14), with Lewis-Skelly likely to make way for Jurrien Timber at left-back, before returning for the Carabao Cup at home to Crystal Palace (Dec 18).
