Juventus captain Danilo has insisted that he will not leave the club in the middle of the 2024-25 season, even if his contract is not extended, because a man like him values ​​dignity more than money.

The 33-year-old is entering the final season of his contract at the Allianz Stadium, with talks over an extension having been stall and he has been link with a move to arch-rivals Napoli, who are a favourite with head coach Antonio Conte. 

However, the Brazilian has denied the allegations himself, saying he will not leave Juventus in the middle of the season to seek a multi-million euro contract elsewhere. 

“I don’t want to leave Juventus in January,” he told Prime Video after the 2-0 Champions League win over Man City, playing the full 90 minutes at left-back. 

“What kind of captain would abandon the team in the middle of a game? And I wouldn’t be the first to do that.” 

“As long as I am here, I will always do my best.”  

In addition, Danilo’s contract does not close the door on an extension because it states that Juventus team can exercise the option for the 2025-26 season if performance meets the agreed conditions.
